NorthWood Boys Tennis earned a hard-fought 3-2 varsity victory over Bremen on Tuesday, while the Panther junior varsity squad continued its unbeaten start with a 5-2 win. With the team match hanging in the balance, NorthWood secured its three varsity points behind a victory from Carter Rose at No. 2 singles and a sweep of the two doubles positions. Rose earned a straight-set win over Bremen’s Riley Tener, 6-4, 6-4. At No. 1 doubles, seniors Eli Heckathorn and Ethan Tompos turned in a commanding performance, defeating David Monesmith and Beck Barnes, 6-0, 6-2. The Panthers also received a key victory from Sebastian Chapman and Colton Ewers at No. 2 doubles. The duo defeated Nick Stiles and Santiago Gutierres, 6-2, 6-3, to help secure the 3-2 team victory. At No. 3 singles, senior Aiden McEndarfer battled through the longest match of the night. McEndarfer claimed the second set before ultimately falling to Lincoln Heifer in three sets, 7-6(4), 1-6, 6-2. Nolan Tompos competed at No. 1 singles for the Panthers. NorthWood's junior varsity squad improved to 2-0-1 with its 5-2 victory. Jackson Kemp, Nerick Sanchez, Brody Freeland, Sawyer Love and Brinqley Parvu-Timmer each earned singles wins for the Panthers. Kemp won 8-5, Sanchez earned an 8-1 victory, Freeland won 8-4, Love posted an 8-0 shutout and Parvu-Timmer completed the Panthers' five victories with an 8-5 decision. The varsity Panthers improve to 2-2 overall and will now turn their attention to Northern Lakes Conference competition. NorthWood returns home Thursday, August 27, to host Concord in the Panthers' 2026 NLC opener.
