NAPPANEE – NorthWood High School has announced the hiring of Conner Glon as its next Director of Athletic Performance. Glon succeeds Servando Duran, who led the Panthers' athletic performance program for the past four years. Following an extensive search process, NorthWood selected Glon based on his proven success developing high school student-athletes, building comprehensive strength and conditioning programs, and fostering a culture centered on athletic excellence, injury prevention and personal growth. Glon had recently served as a Wellness Performance Specialist with Beacon Health System and Director of Sports Performance at Elkhart High School, where he oversees athletic performance programming for all sports. Prior to his current role, he spent three years as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Wawasee High School, leading athletic performance initiatives across the district's athletic programs. A graduate of Manchester University with a degree in Exercise Science, Glon brings six years of strength and conditioning experience to NorthWood. He holds Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification and was recently recognized with the National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA) Program of Excellence Award, one of the highest honors awarded to high school strength and conditioning programs. "Conner emerged as an outstanding candidate for this position," said AJ Risedorph, Director of Athletics at NorthWood High School. "His passion for developing student-athletes, commitment to building relationships, and track record of creating successful athletic performance programs made him the right fit for NorthWood. We are excited to welcome him to the Panther family and look forward to the impact he will have on our students, coaches and athletic programs." Throughout his career, Glon has emphasized developing strong, healthy and confident athletes while creating an environment that promotes discipline, accountability and long-term success. His experience includes program design and implementation, injury prevention practices, data tracking and collaboration with coaches, athletic trainers and educators to maximize student-athlete development. "I am extremely excited to build upon the tradition of excellence of this athletic program and community," said Glon. "I'm honored and can't wait to get to work. Go Panthers!" Glon will oversee NorthWood's athletic performance programming, working with student-athletes across all sports to enhance strength, speed, mobility, injury prevention and overall athletic development. His leadership will continue the department's commitment to providing student-athletes with resources that support success in competition, the classroom and life beyond high school as well as providing resources and development for our youth.
